How to recover VET sent using Binance Smart Chain (BSC)

Modified on Sat, 04 Nov 2023 at 02:02 PM

In this guide, we will show you how to recover Vechain (VET) sent using BSC to a Vechain wallet

Vechain has its own blockchain and to be able to send and receive VET, VTHO or any of the coins on the Vechain network, you need to transfer them using the Vechain blockchain to a wallet that supports the Vechain network.

If you have made the mistake to send VET tokens using the Binance Smart Chain, your coins will not arrive to your vechain wallet and you will need to follow this guide to regain access to your coins.

Please use these instructions at your own risk. If anything goes wrong, you might permanently lose your coins.

Please be very careful with your 12-word secret recovery phrase and private keys, because they control access to your funds. Never share them with anyone, and only import them into platforms that you trust 100%. If you choose to import your 12-word phrase or private keys into a third-party platform, you do so at your own risk.

How to recover your coins

By following this guide, you will import your vechain address into Trust Wallet, which does support the BSC network and will allow you to regain access to your coins.

  1. Download Trust Wallet, a popular wallet with over 60 million users from https://trustwallet.com/
  2. Launch Trust wallet and when installing select "I already have a wallet"
  3. Select BSC / Smart Chain as the network and import the backup phrase of your vechain wallet
  4. Add wrapped VET (BEP-20) to your wallet by adding a custom token:
    1. Contract Address: 0x6FDcdfef7c496407cCb0cEC90f9C5Aaa1Cc8D888
    2. Name: Vechain
    3. Symbol: VET
    4. Decimals: 18
  5. You should now see your VET tokens (on the BSC network) show up in your wallet.
  6. To be able to transfer these VET tokens out of your wallet, you will need BNB to pay for the transaction fees. Make sure to only transfer your VET tokens to a wallet that does support VET on the BSC network, our official wallets only support VET on the vechain blockchain.
    1. To convert your VET on the BSC network to VET on the vechain network, you can transfer them to Binance.
