To pay for transactions on the VechainThor blockchain you need VTHO, which is the gas token of the ecosystem.
If you lack VTHO to pay for a transaction, wallets often display a warning showing "error signing transaction".
The amount of VTHO you need depends on the type of transaction you submit, a regular VET transaction requires 0.21 VTHO.
There are two ways to acquire VTHO:
- Hold VET - By holding VET in your wallet you will generate VTHO for free which you can use.
- Buy VTHO - If you don't want to wait until your have generated enough VTHO, you can buy it on most exchanges: https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/vethor-token#markets
